Removing stains from brushed nickel faucet?
I used a cloth soaked in white vinegar to clean hard water deposits and my faucet became discolored, any suggestions for removing the discoloration?
A product called CLR is good for cleaning the faucet. I don't know why the vinegar did this. I have never used vinegar on my faucets before but one thing I do use to make them shine is use a table spoon of Cream of Tartar (the baking spice stuff, you use it when you make Meringue) in a half cup of water. I use a brush and get the liquid all over the faucet and let it sit for few minutes and then rinse with water and a sponge. They come out like new. It is good for brass and silver too. Better then Brasso I think. Good luck and I hope some here knows what caused this. I would like to know for myself.
