WDYT about these "color-splashed" name combos?
Girls:
Olivia Auburn
Burgundy Isabella
Sara Fuchsia
Ivory Taylor
Ava Magenta
Mahogany Sofia
Christina Mauve
Summer Teal
Charlotte Umber
Viridian Skye
Boys:
Jacob Brass
Brick Alexander
Tyler Bronze
Jackson Cobalt
Copper James
Victor Linen
Eric Maroon
Onyx Donovan
Cameron Slate
Taupe Douglas
I never said I was going to use them. I just like to think outside of the box a bit sometimes, just to see what I can come up with; and to add a NEW question to Y!A, instead of asking about the same names that everyone else asks about and having everyone pair them with the same exact choices.
I already knew that a lot of people would be a little too close-minded towards anything that can't be found amongst the current "Chart Toppers"; and for them to say "Yes" to just one of these is even a stretch for them.
Olivia Auburn- lovely.
Burgundy Isabella- I don't hate it, but I think it's a little too masculine in sound for a girl's first name. It doesn't quite work for a boy either, it's best as a girl's middle name.
Sara Fuchsia- something about the "fyoo" sound really turns me off.
Ivory Taylor- not bad, I think I'd prefer it as a middle.
Ava Magenta- not a fan.
Mahogany Sofia- REALLY stands out to me as "mahogany sofa"
Christina Mauve- sweet.
Charlotte Umber- lovely. Umber really takes on an old-fashioned feel, especially with Charlotte
Viridian Skye- This gives a very distinct image (as in, I literally picture a viridian sky). But, it does have an appealing sound!
Jacob Brass- not the best, but certainly not bad.
Brick Alexander- I think since this is so similar to other boy names (Rick, Buck, Brock) that it really fits right in there.
Tyler Bronze- not bad, but feels mismatched with Tyler to me.
Jackson Cobalt- nice.
Copper James- I'd much prefer James Copper.
Victor Linen- Linen feels a bit too "soft" for a boy.
Eric Maroon- I'm not really a fan. It reminds me of Bugs Bunny who often said "What a maroon!" as in "what an idiot"
Onyx Donovan- I do like Onyx, though it feels a bit goth. Donovan Onyx flows better to me.
Cameron Slate- great! Slate works wonderfully.
Taupe Douglas- again, not a fan. mostly because Taupe is suuuuuuch a bland color.
As an artist, I LOOOOOVE the idea of color names, but there are definitely some that work and some that don't. A few more that I particularly like:
Scarlet, Plum (middle name only), Violet, Ivy, Blue (middle name only), Jett, Indigo, Red
